Approach

AlHaj Abed Lab  focuses on understanding how maternal and paternal chromosomes communicate using haplotype-specific Hi-C and sequential OligoSTORM. The two approaches are complementary- utilizing both single-cell and population based assays to understand how the genome is organized. While haplotype-resolved Hi-C uncovers a genome-wide signature of chromosome interactions in embryos and diploid cell lines, super-resolution imaging with OligoSTORM reveals high localization precision of chromosomal loci in 3D in the nucleus.
